Filmmaking

As the scene of several major projects, ranging from Lonesome Dove to Friday Night Lights to indie projects, our unique sites are perfect for movie, video and commercial photo shoots of all varieties. Our historic sites offer realistic sets that can be used as backdrops or can be dressed. Our pastures and meadows can accurately portray both frontier and modern scenes, with a variety of woodlands and grasslands, historic and adaptable structures and interiors. We also offer access to experts on period-appropriate details and activities, costumed craftspeople and extras.

Campouts

Pioneer Farms offers several sites for overnight camping for your Scout pack or troop, your community group or religious organization. As the closest-in camping area in Austin, Pioneer Farms is convenient and secure.

Camping out at Pioneer Farms feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, even though you’re close to home. Rates are $10 per person per night for most groups. We also offer a covered bunkhouse for campouts during the winter.
