CHISHOLM TRAIL DAY: Saturday, November 9

The famous Chisholm Trail once crossed the land where Pioneer Farms is now located, and we’ll celebrate Texas’ cattle-drive era with a special program of frontier activities.

The family-fun program will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The event will feature a live theater musical presentation of “The Feud” by the acclaimed Austin-based Texas Comedies will present an adventure from the pages opf Texas history. The story line: The Civil War is over, but the fighting rages on in 1870s Texas. In this musical comedy, a beleaguered army officer stands between an outlaw family and a band of vigilantes, while a wronged woman seeks her own kind of twisted justice.

The show will run from Noon until 2 p.m.

  The Austin company has staged successful hit shows like “Murders & Moontowers,” “Boomtown” and “Prohibition” among others.

  Admission to the show and all festivities of the day is $15 per person — a real 1800s deal. Live music and historical reenactments will be offered at our historical sites. A cowboy chuck wagon display and frontier reenactors will be among the things to see as you step back in time.
