Hands-On History+
This Friday history program is geared toward home-schoolers, learning pods, students with asynchronous schedules and any other school-age children eager to learn about the past in an engaging way.
Appropriate for learners in grades K-8, the one hour, educator led program will begin with a 15-20 minute lesson followed by a hands-on activity.
Learners must be accompanied by adults at all times. Cost will be admission to the museum or membership, plus $5 for each participant (children and adults). Non-participating adults and children just pay admission. Advanced reservations are required due to limited space.
February: Punched paper crafts, sewing and 1800s handiwork
March: Dyeing with natural materials
April:Indigenous Peoples and pinch-pot pottery
May: Laundry relay the the science of soap
Themes for the Spring 2025 semester will be posted in coming weeks.
ONSITE: Hands-On Class. Taught the first Friday of each month in the Spring with a different theme each month at different history sites, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. (1 hour). Fee is $5 per participant in the Hands-On History+ class. Dress appropriately for the weather on the day of the class.
