Hidden Histories
Hidden Histories
Offered Tuesday-Friday.
Ever wonder about the people history has long ignored? What was their life like in 19th century Central Texas? Join us for our Hidden Histories tour where we focus on their lives, and how these Texans lived in a different time. The tour will address the lives of enslaved and free people of color, indigenous tribes, Tejanos, people with disabilities and those who today might identify as LGBTQ+ — an insight into an overlooked part of Lone Star history.
These guided programs are available Tuesday through Friday, by advance reservation. A minimum of 30 people (students, teachers and chaperones) is required.
FEE: $6 per student/teacher/chaperone for school/homeschool programs. All others pay regular admission prices, $8 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. No refunds are allowed once reservations are made.
TIME: 90 minutes (Opportunity for additional self-guided exploration following the tour)
