Basic Blacksmithing: Intro
This fast-paced, hands-on introduction to blacksmithing teaches the basics of safety, fire management and how to draw steel out, bend, cut, and twist steel while creating either a fire rake or steak flipper. Five-hour class.
Taught in our Village Smithy on the first Saturday of the month at the following times: January-April: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; May-September: 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and October-December: 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Materials provided.
Once students have completed Basic Blacksmithing: Intro, they are eligible to take Basic Blacksmithing: Core Skills, offered on the first Sunday of each month.

All classes include a 30-minute break for lunch. Gourmet sandwiches, chips and drinks are available for purchase in the General Store.
Class is designed for students ages 18 and older. Students aged 15-17 years old may enroll so long as a parent or legal guardian signs the attendance release form at the beginning of the class. Youths ages 12-14 may enroll if a parent or legal guardian enrolls in and takes the class with the younger student. No exceptions.
Enrollment is required no less than a week before the class date. All enrollments are subject to availability.
Important notice: No refunds are allowed once the enrollment fee is received. Students who cannot attend a class for whatever reason may reschedule once, on a space-available basis.
