Basic Blacksmithing: Forge Welding
Basic Blacksmithing: Forge Welding
Open up a wide array of new possibilities by learning the original way to weld. Once mastered, forge welding allows a smith to join two pieces of steel together. This foundational skill is used in everything from chain links to axes and Damascus steel.
This five-hour class provides an understanding of the welding process, the zones of the fire, flux, scarfs, and an overview of different types of welds focusing on bundle and loop welds. The student will leave class with a forge welded spoon and a marshmallow roaster with a welded handle. Materials provided
