Joinery Projects: 2 Classes
Joinery Projects: 2 Classes
Prerequisite: Basic Blacksmithing: Joinery or previous relevant blacksmithing experience.
Practice your traditional joinery skills with these two classes
Riveted Coat / Key Hanger: This coat/key hanger is great to hang near the front door to show off your blacksmithing skills. This project focuses on punching and drifting and riveting.
Collared Trivets: These kitchen / fireplace trivets are a classic blacksmithing item to sell or give away as gifts. The class is focused on how to use collars to join material together.
Taught in our Village Smithy from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of March and November. Materials provided.
Students should wear a cotton or other natural-fiber shirt (long sleeves optional), long pants or jeans, and work boots or close-toed shoes. Bring a bottle of water and a sack lunch. A 30-minute lunch break will be given. Gourmet sandwiches, chips and drinks are available for purchase in the General Store.
Class is designed for students ages 18 and older. Students aged 15-17 years old may enroll so long as a parent or legal guardian signs the attendance release form at the beginning of the class. Youths ages 12-14 may enroll if a parent or legal guardian enrolls in and takes the class with the younger student. No exceptions.
Enrollment is required no less than a week before the class date. All enrollments are subject to availability.
Important notice: No refunds are allowed once the enrollment fee is received. Students who cannot attend a class for whatever reason may reschedule once, on a space-available basis.
