Blacksmithing meets cutlery and weaponry in this beginner class where students focus on making knives through a hand-forging process. Handle included. A labor-intensive class with at least one project, taught by Forged in Fire Champion Chris Farrell. Materials provided.

ONSITE: Hands-On Class. Taught on one Saturday-Sunday weekend in January, February, May, June, October, November and December from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Village Smithy. $300 per student.

Students should wear a cotton or other natural-fiber shirt (long sleeves optional), long pants or jeans, and work boots or close-toed shoes. Bring a bottle of water. The daytime class will take a 30-minute lunch break. Bring a sack lunch, or gourmet sandwiches and drinks are available for purchase in our General Store.

PRIOR COMPLETION OF BLACKSMITHING 1.0 IS NOT REQUIRED. Class is designed for students ages 18 and older. Students aged 15-17 years old may enroll so long as a parent or legal guardian signs the attendance release form at the beginning of the class. No exceptions.

ENROLLMENT OF ALL STUDENTS MUST BE COMPLETED AT LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE CLASS DATE. All enrollments are subject to availability.

Important notice: No refunds are allowed once the enrollment fee is received. Students who cannot attend a class for whatever reason may reschedule once, on a space-available basis.
