Gardening For Children
Gardening For Children
In this fun-filled class, children ages 4-10 and their parent(s) will learn how to plant seeds, transplant young seedlings, and track the growth through harvest of common garden plants. We start seeds by recycling or reusing common household items to form mini-pots, filling them with a special seed starting mix, and learn the basics of photosynthesis and what a plant needs in order to grow. We will then head out to the garden at the 1866 Fritz Kruger homestead and practice planting in the garden, while our longhorns watch from across the pathway.
ONSITE: Instruction Class. Taught the first Saturday of February, March, April and May from 1-3 p.m. (2 hours), $20 per person. At least one parent must register and accompany child, for total of two registrations.
Important notice: No refunds are allowed once the enrollment fee is received. Students who cannot attend a class for whatever reason may reschedule once, on a space-available basis.
