WALKING & NATURE TRAILS: Open Thursdays to Sundays
Our walking and nature trails through our historic sites are open to the public to allow folks to get out of the house and stretch their legs amid Texas history.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
For regular admission, you can explore our network of nature trails along historic Walnut Creek. Our history trails link each of our seven historic interpretive sites. The network of trails provide an outdoor experience where much Texas history was made — from places where the earliest native people in this area once camped to where early trade routes crossed the creek to where Republic of Texas President Mirabeau B. Lamar, on a bluff overlooking the creek, proclaimed his decision to relocate the capital to what is now Austin.
Come out and enjoy Texas history outdoors!
