From Field to Fabric, A Tale of Cotton
We all love cotton clothing, especially in the Central Texas summers! But did you ever wonder how it came to be clothing? Visit Pioneer Farms, pick some cotton, comb it, try your hand at spinning and weaving the cotton. Learn the importance of the cotton crop to 19th C. Texans.

Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison, in concert, Saturday, Oct. 4. Plus the Biscuit Brothers and Mr. Steve, PBS' national host. Plus two dozen other acts. All at Pioneer Farms, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A Lewis Carroll Halloween
For three nights only, Oct. 11, 18, and 25, many characters from the writings of Lewis Carroll will inhabit Pioneer Farms. Hayrides will transport visitors to the world of Lewis Carroll to meet such characters as Alice in Wonderland, Jaberwocky, Hiawatha, and many more. Seating is limited so make your reservations early. Appropriate for all ages so bring the whole family out!
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Hayrides depart every 15 minutes beginng at 7pm and ending at 9:30pm. Each ride lasts approx. 20 min. There will be activities to entertain visitors while they await their hayride time. Gates open at 6:30pm each night of the event.

Reservations are now open for Friday school field trips in our popular "Daily Life on the Rural Prairie" program, where students can experience 1800s life on our three historic farmsteads, staffed with costumed interpreters. Book now to get the date your class wants......See more

Open Fridays, Sundays!
Pioneer Farms is open for tours and programs every Friday and Sunday through November. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Groups of 20 or more get in for $5 each.
