Rigid-Heddle Weaving

Learn the basics on this easy and most versatile type of loom, the Rigid-Heddle. Instruction includes measuring out the warp, how to warp up the loom and different techniques for weaving on it. The class project is a scarf. Students will need to provide their own loom and yarn, based on their loom size. PRIOR COMPLETION OF BASIC WEAVING CLASS REQUIRED.

ONSITE: Hands-On Class. Taught on request, for a minimum of three students, between April and September from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4 hours) in the Spinning Room at our 1886 Cotton Planter’s Farm. $100 per student. Students should dress for the weather, and bring a bottle of water.

Important notice: No refunds are allowed once the enrollment fee is received. Students who cannot attend a class for whatever reason may reschedule once, on a space-available basis.
